Complete Biography
John E. Wickman has been a Florida lawyer since 1995 and was certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in real estate law in 2015. This Board Certification distinction places him among less than 0.5% of all attorneys licensed in Florida-an elite recognition of his specialized expertise and commitment to excellence in real estate law.
Originally from Iowa and Michigan, Mr. Wickman has been a Florida resident since 1983. He graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Marketing from the University of South Florida in 1985. Before entering law school, he gained valuable business experience with Xerox Corporation as a marketing representative and California Federal Savings & Loan as a residential loan officer. He also successfully owned and operated three men's formal wear stores in Bradenton from 1988 to 1992.
Mr. Wickman earned his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in December 1994, graduating Magna Cum Laude, fourth in his class. He has been engaged in the transactional practice of business and real estate law since 1995, and was also a Florida licensed residential mortgage loan originator from 2002 to 2012, providing him with unique insight into the financing side of real estate transactions.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Wickman has been deeply involved in the Sarasota and Manatee County communities, serving as chairman of the Bradenton area Head Start Policy Council, director of Manatee County Junior Achievement, Elder and finance committee chairman for the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, director and past secretary of the Manatee County Bar Association, and membership chairman of the South Manatee SERTOMA Club. He is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Manatee and has been an active member of Abundant Life Church in Sarasota for many years.
After practicing both individually and with firms ranging from 2 to 12 lawyers in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and Sarasota for twenty-five years, Mr. Wickman launched Wickman Law Group PLLC in downtown Sarasota in 2021. In late 2025, he founded Closing Pros LLC to focus primarily on residential and commercial real estate transactions, bringing three decades of legal expertise and board-certified specialization to every closing.

Janet Wickman is a real estate paralegal with Closing Pros LLC with over 24 years of industry experience, supporting real estate transactions through the preparation of legal documents, property record research, and the coordination of timelines for closings, inspections, and contingencies. She works closely with Buyers and Sellers, as well as attorneys, lenders, and real estate agents to help ensure efficient and accurate transaction processes.
Janet holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida and completed Six Sigma Green Belt training, with professional interests in 8D Problem Solving, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) and is accomplished with Excel. This training made Janet better at problem solving, analytical thinking, leading improvement efforts, and document processes and procedures. Janet is a former member of Women's Council of Realtors making Janet well-connected with serious professionals. She is also a Toastmasters veteran making her comfortable speaking, presenting and negotiating.
Outside of work, Janet enjoys hiking, cycling, and staying active through regular workouts. Janet also enjoys spending time with her family and Church.
